About The Camp
The Hip Hop Architecture Camp™ is a one week intensive experience, designed to introduce under represented youth to architecture, urban planning, creative place making and economic development through the lens of hip hop culture. The Camp is based on the "4C's" which are Creativity, Collaboration, Communication and Critical Thinking. During the camp, students are paired with architects, urban planners, designers, community activists and hip hop artists to create unique visions for their communities which include the creation of physical models, digital models and the creation of a Hip Hop Architecture track and music video summarizing their designs.

dAY 1 - “architecture is frozen music”
Using the lyrical analysis process created by “The Hip Hop Architect”, participants will freeze their favorite tracks,, resulting in architectural visions.
DAY 2 - 3D MOdeling with Autodesk TINKERCAD
Camp participants learn Autodesk Tinkercad as they create architectural designs inspired by hip hop culture. No previous experience with Tinkercad necessary.
DAY 3 - 3d pRINTING BUILDING [W]RAPS
Using Tinkercad and 3D Printers, camp participants design neighborhoods and 3D print Building [W]Raps inspired by hip hop culture. The best [W]Rap design receives a Chromebook.
DAY 4 - ARCHITECTURAL RAPS
Camp participants will learn the basics of writing a rap, which will be followed by an freestyle architectural cipher challenge. The winners of the rap architecture cipher challenge will receive a pair of Beats By Dre Headphones.
DAY 5 - STARCHITECTS: MUSIC VIDEO SHOOT
The camp concludes with a tour of the city as the camp participants shoot their official Hip Hop Architecture Camp music video. To see a selection of previously created music videos please Click Here.
